Water Recreation

Life is just better by the lake. Fishing, canoeing, swimming, or simply relaxing by the water - you name it. There are plenty of opportunities for you to dive into a boatload of fun in Southern Indiana.

Patoka Lake is the second-largest reservoir in the state and is spread across Dubois, Crawford, and Orange counties in Southern Indiana. The 8,800-acre lake has a beach, ten boat ramps, two marinas and multiple lodging options located just steps away from the waterfront.

Fishermen will want to grab their tackle boxes and head to Glendale Fish and Wildlife Area, with more than 1,400 acres of water across 22 ponds and Dogwood Lake, all full of catfish, bluegill, and largemouth bass. Cave Country Canoes is the region's hook up for kayak and canoe rentals. Paddle along the Blue River with beautiful scenery, wildlife, and small rapids. While swimming in the lake is perfect for the summer, Big Splash Adventure is a 40,000 square foot indoor waterpark perfect for year-round fun.
